Paddle Surfing for Beginners Course – Ready to Rip

OK so you’re stood up and paddling about on flat water trying some advanced turns and some basic freestyle but you’re dying to get into paddle surfing! It may look easy on those youtube videos but SUPs are much bigger and harder to control than traditional surfboards and can be very dangerous in the wrong hands!

Let our team of experienced paddle surfers show you the basics. Our half day course is designed to make the transition across to coastal paddle boarding fun but above all safe! We’ll revisit many of the Ready to Ride topics (but in more detail) alongside introducing new topics like the surf stance, utilising the paddle to turn on the wave, how to fall safely in the surf, getting out through the white water, how to set up for a wave and many other vital aspects. Most people require 1-2 half day courses before they’re proficient to venture out into the surf alone. Sessions are conducted around a suitable forecast at Tynemouth or White Haven (Cumbria).

Due to the intensified nature of paddle surfing we run a maximum 1:4 instructor to client ratio for safety reasons.

Costs based on 4 participants:

• 1 x Half Day £79 Adult / £59 Child
• 2 x Half Days £129 Adult / £99 Child

* Participants must have completed a 'Ready to Ride' Beginner Course or had a private lesson or be able to evidence competence prior to course.
